Bučina: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Bučina combines a meadow that has been covered with rose bushes since time immemorial with churches dating from the 14th and 18th centuries. It also features regularly held cultural events and a cycle path that runs through the village.

Culture and History

The Protestant church in Bučina was built in 1786 and has been a cultural monument of the Czech Republic since 2003. The Catholic Church of St. James the Elder near the village green was built in 1375. Originally built as a Roman Catholic subsidiary church in the Gothic style in the 14th century, it had to be rebuilt in the Neo-Gothic style after a fire in 1872.

The Růžový palouček is a meadow that has been covered with rose bushes since time immemorial. The roses found there do not grow anywhere else in the surrounding area; they are called French roses and are botanically known as Rosa gallica. In 1989, the Růžový palouček was declared a cultural monument. In 1921, a monument designed by A. Metelák was unveiled there, bearing the names of exiles who went abroad.

The cultural events regularly held in Bučina include the St. James pilgrimage, including a Holy Mass, as well as an Advent concert in the Protestant church.
