Jamne Nad Orlici: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Jamné nad Orlicí is located in the eastern part of the Orlické Mountains below Suchý vrch. The settlements are spread across both steep slopes of the valley of the Jamenský potok, which flows into the Tichá Orlice in the lower part of Jamné nad Orlicí. The U tisu site is well maintained and equipped with an information board.

Culture and Remembrance

In the centre of Jamné nad Orlicí, above the school, stands the Church of the Holy Trinity. Monsignor Dominik Filip was one of the church’s most important benefactors and is buried in the local cemetery of Jamné nad Orlicí.

František Filip, known as Bezruký Frantík, was born in Jamné nad Orlicí in 1904. A memorial plaque dedicated to him is located on the school building. Parčík Bezrukého Frantíka also features a sculpture of Frantík created by Jan Šebek. The municipal office in Jamné nad Orlicí still preserves a specially made bench that enabled František Filip to learn to write with his foot.

Routes and Winter

Cycle route No. 4074 leads from Jablonné nad Orlicí towards Jamné nad Orlicí. At the water station in Jamné nad Orlicí, it enters the forest; this is where the most demanding climb of the route is located. The Jiráskova cesta passes through Jamné nad Orlicí and is designated as a long-distance or ridge cycle route. On the 3.6 km-long Jamenský kopec, 24 cyclists set themselves the challenge of conquering the climb with an elevation gain of 225 metres.

The cross-country ski trails groomed in winter in Jamné nad Orlicí connect to the cross-country skiing circuits in Čenkovice.

Events

The Staročeské posvícení takes place in Jamné nad Orlicí every five years, on the last Sunday in October, featuring a masked procession and the threshing of Martin the rooster as a “sinner”. The traditional event “Stezka odvahy” took place on 3 October 2020 and 2 November 2024.
