Culture and history
The Chapel of St. Procopius in Sázava dates from 1858. Its main altar dates from the 19th century; the chapel also houses a painting of Saint Teresa from the second half of the 18th century.
The first written mention of Sázava dates from 21 May 1304 and appears in a deed of gift issued by King Wenceslaus II.

The Moravská Sázava flows through Sázava.
Zámecká hora is a mountain in the vicinity of Sázava. Lazek is also a mountain nearby. The surroundings of Sázava also include Cukrová Bouda and Obora, both mountains.
