Řetová: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
The cadastral territory of Řetová stretches through a valley at an altitude of 390 to 569.5 metres. The valley near Řetová is lined with forests on both sides. The regulated Husí krk stream shapes the valley and flows into the Tichá Orlice.
Nature and landscape
East of Řetová lies the VKP “Jalovce”, a registered significant landscape element with an isolated population of the endangered common juniper on a former pasture. In the meadows on the cadastral boundary between Řetová and Přívrat lies the VKP “Opukové osypy”, a registered significant landscape element with marl outcrops and rare thermophilous plants.
At the edge of the forest on the southern slope of Andrlův Chlum lies the VKP “Opučák”, a registered significant landscape element with an abandoned marl quarry and rare thermophilous and calcicolous plants. The VKP “Bromion” is located at the edge of the forest southwest of Řetová and comprises thermophilous grassland communities as well as a diverse insect fauna. Orlice Nature Park extends into the cadastral territory of Řetová at the northern side of road II/360. In addition, four designated natural monuments in the form of protected memorial trees are located in the cadastral territory of Řetová.
Culture and townscape
The fulling mill and bleaching works in Řetová, house no. 137, is a protected cultural monument. The Church of St Mary Magdalene, dating from 1755, is a prominent feature of Řetová. A protected enclosure wall surrounds the church, and the ossuary near the church is one of the protected immovable cultural monuments in Řetová. The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk is a cultural monument in Řetová.
Paths and sport
Several marked cycle paths run through the cadastral territory of Řetová. The tourist routes designated in Řetová include the “Okolo Řetové” educational trail. Řetová has a multi-purpose sports field with an ice rink, as well as tennis and volleyball facilities.
When there is sufficient snow, a groomed cross-country skiing trail runs along the eastern ridge between Andrlův Chlum and the Kozlovská rozhledna lookout tower.
