Slatina: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The historical features of Slatina include the Church of “svatého Petra a Pavla”. It is a cultural monument of the Czech Republic and has Romanesque origins dating from the first half of the 13th century. Located on a hill, it is also visible from the surrounding area.
Culture and History
Next to the church stands the elongated house, which has been preserved and is well maintained and is known as U Stratílků. The building now known as U Stratílků was first mentioned in 1610, at that time under the name Panský hostinec.
Landscape
An orchard on the hilltop near the church continues to contribute to the old-world atmosphere. Numerous species of dry grassland continue to grow on the marlstone in the area of the orchard. The painter Josef Kubizňák (1909–1990) particularly appreciated the view of the church from the slope below the railway line from Choceň to Vysoké Mýto, from the village of Krátké lány.
