Mostek: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

At the southern edge of Mostek’s cadastral area, where the municipality extends to the Tichá Orlice River, lies the Hemže-Mýtkov Protected Nature Reserve. It consists of south-facing slopes above the river, with scree forests on marl outcrops and a species-rich forest flora. Molluscs and amphibians are also found in the adjacent former channels of the Tichá Orlice.

Cycle Route 4061 provides access from Choceň to the Hemže-Mýtkov Nature Reserve and continues towards Česká Třebová. A waterfall may appear in the gorge of the nature reserve when water levels are higher.

Culture and History

The Mostek Atonement Cross is protected as a cultural monument and is considered a rare surviving medieval monument associated with a local tragic event. It stands between Mostek and Brandýs nad Orlicí on Road 312, approximately 250 metres beyond the village in the direction of Brandýs nad Orlicí.

Opposite the former grocery store stands a capital from the château, whose construction began in 1724. The remaining ruins of the château begun near Mostek were dismantled by farmers from Mostek in 1874.

In Sudličkova Lhota, the Sudličkova Distillery is located in the premises of a medieval fortified manor; the first surviving records of alcohol distillation from the 15th century are preserved there. Sudličkova Lhota is also home to a medieval agricultural farmstead from the 14th century, which also included a fortified manor.

Kříž v Mostku is a stone cross on a four-sided stone pedestal. The rear of the pedestal records its erection in 1842 and restorations in 1881, 1894, 1923, 1937, 1970 and 2008.

Mostecký šmajd was a charity walk held on 1 May 2026, with routes of various lengths. Participation was possible between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.; the proceeds were intended to support Marek Kolář.
