Luková: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Cycle route No. 4222, “Damníkov – Lanškroun – through the Moravská Sázava valley to Buková hora”, runs through Luková. Luková is also located on the Via Czechia, the so-called Českomoravská Route.

Things to do

The 2.71 km-long Lanškroun–Luková cycle path connects Lanškroun with the municipality of Luková. Its route begins at the town boundary of Lanškroun and ends at the railway underpass structure in Luková. The cycle path was completed and opened for use on 3 January.

The Lukovský mandel is a cycling and hiking excursion held regularly in spring in Luková. It follows hiking and cycling routes through the countryside and small villages in the area surrounding Luková.

Events

Motosraz Luková is an annual motorcycle gathering featuring bands, performances, competitions, as well as food and drinks. Cold-blooded draught horse competitions called Chladnokrevníci Květná are regularly held in the Květná district of Luková. Lukovská pouť is a traditional summer pilgrimage in Luková held during the school holidays.

Culture and pilgrimage

Construction of the Church of St. Margaret began in 1882, and the church was completed and consecrated in 1885. Pilgrimage Masses as well as organ and Advent concerts are held every year in the Church of St. Margaret.

Construction of the Chapel of St. Lawrence in Květná was commissioned in 1863; the chapel was consecrated on 5 May 1864. Masses are regularly celebrated in the Chapel of St. Lawrence in Květná; the Mass on the second Sunday in August for St. Lawrence is associated with the Svatovavřinecká pouť pilgrimage. The chapel has a Rococo high altar with a mensa in the shape of a tomb.

The religious buildings in the territories of Luková and Květná include a total of 17 stone crosses, monuments, statues and wayside shrines.
