Dolní Čermná: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Dolní Čermná combines a distinctive local history with nature observation and diverse collections. Churches, historical traces, an educational trail and museums create a vivid picture of the town.

Churches and local history

The parish church of St. George is a landmark above the market square of Dolní Čermná. It stands on a promontory bordered by the Čermenka stream and is surrounded by an old cemetery. The stone tower was completed in 1559; the stone nave was added to this older stone tower.

In the Jakubovice district of Dolní Čermná stands the branch church of St. Anthony of Padua, built in 1850. It has Hanisch organs from the 19th century with ten stops, whose bellows are still operated by hand. The St. Anthony pilgrimage takes place at the church on the Sunday around 13 June, the feast day of St. Anthony of Padua.

The historic cemetery chapel of St. Barbara dates from the early 18th century.

Nature and educational trail

The Dolní Čermná family educational trail is approximately 6 kilometres long, starts and ends in the health and sports area, and can be completed on foot, by bicycle or with a pushchair. Along the route there are three covered rest areas, information boards and other educational stations focused on environmental education.

The family educational trail leads to the Crk forest spring and provides information about the birds of the surrounding area as well as legends associated with the places in question.

Museums and collections

The Museum of Historical Radios in Dolní Čermná contains more than 200 types of radios, most of which were manufactured in the former Czechoslovakia. It also includes historical electronic components from almost the entire product range of TESLA Lanškroun.

The Museum of the Market Town of Dolní Čermná first opened its exhibits to the public in summer 2001 and can be visited by personal or telephone appointment. It includes an ethnographic section and a natural history section with exhibits on birds, small game, rodents, antlers and mounted antler heads, as well as collections of butterflies and beetles, minerals and preserved reptiles. These illustrate life in the region's natural environment across various biotopes.

Landscape and historical traces

Dolní Čermná lies in the Podorlická Uplands, within the Žamberská Uplands and the Čermenská pahorkatina landscape district.

The town includes a historic pond covering 16 hectares, created in the mid-17th century, as well as a stone bridge bearing the year 1308.

Transport network

Bus route 700904 connects Ústí nad Orlicí, Dolní Dobrouč and Dolní Čermná. Bus route 700913 connects Lanškroun, Dolní Čermná, Verměřovice and Letohrad.
