České Heřmanice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

České Heřmanice’s most important landmark is the Church of St. James the Greater. At the same time, a signposted cycling route makes it possible to explore the rural landscape of České Heřmanice, characterized by ponds.

Culture and History

The Church of St. James the Greater preserves a late Gothic portal dating from 1547 in the northern wall of the presbytery. Between 1720 and 1733, it was rebuilt in the Baroque style; the front part of the nave was extended by two Baroque side chapels. A Gothic portal leading to the sacristy has also survived in the left wall of the presbytery. The granary is also one of the historically significant listed buildings in České Heřmanice.

Landscape and Trails

The Borová educational trail begins at a former inn on a country road and leads past an orchard into the Labičské Valley. Its route includes information panels, an insect hotel, a learning table, and stations for identifying trees. The educational trail also leads to two historic underground ice cellars. At the end of the fitness trail, there is a tourist rest area.

Traditions and Events

Masopust, together with a pig-slaughter feast, is one of the traditional events in České Heřmanice. The Masopust masked procession took place for the eighth time in 2025. At the Masopust celebration on February 15, 2025, a pig-slaughter feast was prepared by the volunteer firefighters from České Heřmanice; the masked procession ends with the symbolic burial of the bass.

The Staročeský fair is already a traditional event in České Heřmanice. In 2026, the fair offered handicrafts and good food.
