Lanškroun: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
The Lanškroun Castle is at the heart of the town’s history: the Městské muzeum Lanškroun is housed there. The castle stands on the site of a former Gothic Augustinian monastery and today serves as a cultural and community centre as well as the town museum.
Culture and history
Lanškroun’s historic townscape includes its Renaissance town hall, built in 1581–1582. It is decorated with two valuable stone portals bearing the coats of arms of the landlords and the town. The Krčma inn is also part of the town’s traditional history and has been documented since 1568.
Churches
The St Wenceslas Church is an originally Gothic church dating from the 14th century. It is part of the former Augustinian monastery, which now forms Lanškroun Castle. The church is used for services and occasionally hosts concerts of sacred music. The St Anne Church was built in 1702–1705, probably based on a design by the Baroque master G. P. Tencalla. Since 1964, it has been listed as a cultural monument. The protected monument area also includes the enclosure wall of the former cemetery with its gate, as well as the sculptures in the immediate vicinity of the church.
Nature and trails
Lanškrounská KOPA includes hiking routes of 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 60 and 100 kilometres. The 5-kilometre hiking route of Lanškrounská KOPA is suitable for parents with children, prams and wheelchair users. The Lanškrounské rybníky educational trail runs through the Lanškrounské rybníky Nature Park, which has been incorporated into the Natura 2000 network. The trail is easy and also crosses wooden walkways and small bridges.
