Řepníky combines landscape and history.

Nature

Kusá hora protects habitats with pure beech stands and mixed oak-hornbeam stands on marl subsoil.

The Střemošická stráň protected area comprises near-natural dry grasslands and fringe communities on calcareous subsoil, extensively mown meadows ranging from lowlands to the foothills, and habitat for the lady's-slipper orchid. It is designated as a nature reserve (PR); the Kusá hora natural monument adjoins it to the north.

The Kusá hora area is home to botanically valuable woodland and thermophilous plant species, including the lady's-slipper orchid, also in the valley of the Řepnický potok.

Culture and history

The Church of St Lawrence in Řepníky was rebuilt in the Baroque style in 1783. It has a Rococo pulpit and a stone baptismal font.

The Neoclassical vicarage in Řepníky was built in 1791 according to plans by the local parish priest K. Weeber. At the Popovec u Řepníků archaeological site – “Na hradišti”, parts of a ditch and rampart have been preserved around the hill on which a fortress once stood.

Access

Access to Střemošická stráň is unrestricted; by car, it can be reached to within 250 metres.
