Hejnice U Žamberka: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

With its 538 m-high summit, Kozinec forms the eastern boundary of the upper part of Hejnice. From there, Žampach Hill and, beyond it, the ruins of Lanšperk Castle can be seen to the south.

Landscape

Pilátka reaches 520 m and separates Hejnice from the settlement of Křižánky. Humperk offers a view of Hejnice to the south.

Watercourses

The Hejnický potok has two headwaters. One rises near Záleských No. 55; one of the headwater streams flows through Pustina and feeds a small pond there. The second headwater stream rises below Smetka, flows through the upper part of the village, and joins the first headwater stream in the village centre.

History and Culture

The first written record of Hejnice dates from the 15th century. In the past, Hejnice belonged to the Žampašské estate. The Vápenka district towards Písečná is associated with the former mining of limestone and lime burning. Hejnice is also home to the Chapel of Saint Anthony of Padua.

Křižánky

The first written record of Křižánky dates from 1376. The original farm in Křižánky was divided into five parts in 1697; five homesteads were subsequently built.

Routes

Cycle route CT 4072 runs through Hejnice. On the “Cesta Dr. J. S. Gutha-Jarkovského” hiking trail, Hejnice is indicated as a landmark after 24 km. The “Žamberk – Žampach – Litice nad Orlicí” route leads to Hejnice across fields and through the forest.
