Mladějov Na Moravě: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

A defining testimony to the history of the village is the Mladějovská úzkokolejka. The narrow-gauge railway, with a track gauge of 600 mm, was built towards the end of the First World War to transport shale, fireclay and local coal.

Culture and History

On scheduled dates, excursion trains regularly run on the Mladějovská úzkokolejka, hauled by steam locomotives. The industrial heritage also includes the Průmyslové muzeum Mladějov, located on the site of the former fireclay works in Mladějov na Moravě.

The former Mladějovská rychta is an enclosed rural farmstead with a side gallery and wooden storage chambers on the upper floor. The gables bear painted inscriptions with the year 1791. On the southern edge of the built-up area of Mladějov na Moravě, on the left-hand side of the path to Mladějovské hradisko, stands a cross approximately 4.5 metres high, made of local yellow sandstone and bearing the body of the crucified Christ.

Mladějov–Blosdorf 1915 is a traditional memorial ceremony commemorating the soldiers who fell on all fronts of the First World War.

Nature and Landscape

The route of the Mladějovská úzkokolejka runs through a beautiful natural landscape on the slope of the Hřebečovský hřbet. The natural monument Pod Skálou includes the cadastral areas of Nová Ves u Moravské Třebové and Mladějov na Moravě.

Pod Skálou can be reached from the road via an accessible tourist trail; the site is located more than 250 metres from the road. The reasons for its protection include natural stands of European yew in beech forests, as well as a rich occurrence of rare thermophilous plants on exposed rock outcrops.

Getting Around

A green-marked hiking trail leads from Mladějov na Moravě to Mladějovské hradisko. A marked local cycling route also runs through Mladějov na Moravě.
