Květná: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Květná can be discovered through nature observation, regional production, living traditions, and a distinctive townscape. Its various facets range from a short educational trail to historical traces in the village.

Nature and Trails

The educational trail Lesní škola Květná is approximately 300 metres long. Six information panels display illustrations and brief descriptions of twelve native forest tree species from the region. Along the trail, herbs and grasses can be examined and birds observed in spring; in autumn, leaves and fruit can be collected.

The paved section of the educational trail and the forest road also serve as a local cycle path, with pedestrians having priority. The educational trail is located 100 metres from Květná railway station on railway line No. 261 between Svitavy and Žďárec u Skutče.

Regional Production

At Sýrárna Květná, cheeses and other products can be sampled. The cheese dairy produces and sells fresh, matured, smoked, steamed, and affineur-ripened cheeses. Cow's and goat's milk are used for the products.

Townscape and Trails

Květná lies along the “Trstenicko-hrutovská stezka” trail between Polička and Svitavy. The distinctive German farmhouses near the stream have largely been preserved in the village. Their appearance includes unrendered marlstone walls and decorative window surrounds.

Culture and History

The traditional pilgrimage of Saint Lawrence in Květná is associated with summer film screenings and family events. At the event “Jaro na statku” held in Květná on 2 April 2023, Květná Zahrada opened its stable with goats, cows, horses, and other animals to visitors.

The bell tower of Květná still contains original bells dating from 1416.
