Korouhev: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Korouhev combines a geological exhibition with village history and a hilly landscape. The Korouhev Geological Exhibition is a permanent open-air exhibition of significant rocks and the geological development of the wider area surrounding the municipality. Ten large rock samples illustrate geological development over a period of approximately 500 million years.

Culture and History

One of the defining historic buildings is House No. 163. It has been under state protection since 1963 and is an authentically preserved example of a courtyard-style log-house farmstead typical of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands.

The Church of St Peter and Paul is considered one of the oldest churches in the region; its origins date back to around 1050. Behind the main altar is a sanctuary, meaning a niche in the wall. The church acquired its present appearance in 1908. Visitors can also see several originally preserved historic houses in Korouhev.

Landscape

Korouhev lies in the valley of the Mlýnský potok, while the surrounding area is characterised by a hilly landscape. The mountains of Librův Kopec, Kočíko, Na jedli and Drašarov are located around Korouhev. The highest peak near Korouhev is said to be the 690-metre-high hill of Bezděk.

Activities

Korouhev offers easy hiking as a leisure activity. The 4023 running route is also designated in Korouhev. Fishing is possible in the Svratka River and in Musil Pond in Lačnov, a settlement belonging to Korouhev.
