Kameničná: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Chapel of the Holy Trinity in Kameničná was completed in 1863 and consecrated on 29 September 1867.

Culture and History

The stone Marian column in Kameničná is dated to 1681 and stands in a well-kept park behind the school. The cemetery in Kameničná was consecrated on 23 June 1878.

At the site called “Na hradě” in Suchá, the remains of the moat of a 13th-century castle have been preserved. The so-called Královská cesta runs through the Suchá forest. The Plague Column stands at a place where residents who died during a plague epidemic are buried.

A local legend tells that the tears of an enchanted princess spring from the source below the castle, which is still called “U princezny” today. Kameničná once belonged to the Lords of Litice. In 1809, Kameničná belonged to the Žamberk estate, whose seat was Žamberk.

Landscape and Trails

During the summer months, Kameničná offers opportunities for hiking and cycling in the varied landscape of the Orlické Mountains.

A marked hiking trail runs through the eastern part of the municipality of Kameničná, from Žamberk via Polsko, Houkov and Velká Suchá to Rokytnice.

Kameničná borders the Orlické hory Protected Landscape Area; the boundary of the protected area runs through the neighboring Pěčín.

Events and Local Character

The “KAMÍNCI” choir regularly performs a Christmas carol program in the local chapel in Kameničná, as well as various songs at Kameničná’s June procession.

SPZ z.s. organizes the traditional Kameňák motorcycle meet on the sports ground behind Veverkovými. The 8th Kameňák motorcycle meet took place in Kameničná near Žamberk.

Lenka Skalická from Kameničná near Žamberk offers blossom honey, creamed honey, forest honey, foundation candles, molded candles and propolis.

Geographical Location

Road No. 310 leads from Helvíkovice to Kameničná and, behind the village, branches off toward Říčky v Orlických horách and Bartošovice v Orlických horách via Pěčín and Rokytnice, and toward Rychnov nad Kněžnou via Slatina nad Zdobnicí and Javornice.
