Dolní Dobrouč: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Dolní Dobrouč combines sacred architecture, medieval history and landscapes in the foothills of the Orlické Mountains. Churches and chapels from various periods stand in the village and its surroundings.

Culture and history

The Church of St Nicholas was built in the Empire style in 1828–1829. It can be visited via an entrance separated from the nave by a decorative grille; this access is available at any time of day. At the edge of the forest above Dolní Dobrouč stands the Horákova Chapel, a pilgrimage site dedicated to the Virgin Mary, Mother of Perpetual Help.

The older layers of the village’s history are also visible. The Chapel of St Joseph preserves the presbytery of a former Gothic church from the 15th century. In the Horní Dobrouč district of Dolní Dobrouč stands the Baroque Church of St John the Baptist, dating from 1770. It was built on the site of an older wooden church mentioned in 1677.

Lanšperk Castle was built in the second half of the 13th century. Today, part of the curtain wall and the cellars of the palas adjoining this wall remain.
