Žlebské Chvalovice lies on the border between the Polabská nížina lowland and the Železné hory mountains. The village is situated in a picturesque, heavily forested setting within the Železné hory Protected Landscape Area; at the same time, the entire cadastral area of Žlebské Chvalovice belongs to this protected landscape area.

Nature

A hiking trail passes through Žlebské Chvalovice, climbing to the Krkaňka ridge and continuing on to Lichnice. From Žlebské Chvalovice, panoramic views stretch for dozens of kilometres from southeast to northwest. The ridge also offers views to the north.

Culture and History

Chvalovice is first mentioned in 1391. The Chapel of the Holy Cross was ceremonially consecrated on June 21, 1931. It has a bell tower with a bell that previously stood in the village square and commemorates local people who fell in the world war. There is also a memorial plaque commemorating the victims of the First World War at the chapel on the main road in Žlebské Chvalovice.
