Libkov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The landscape of Libkov is shaped by the valley of the Lupoměšský potok, bordered by forests and the horizons of the slopes.

Landscape

The Lipovský Buk in the fields is designated as a distinctive cultural landscape feature of Libkov. Most of the cadastral area of Libkov u Nasavrk lies within the Železné hory Protected Landscape Area.

Geographical Location

The elevations of Bučina and Krkanka, listed as mountains, are located in the vicinity of Libkov. The nearby area also contains the elevations listed as hills: (Plesenské) [Nasavrky] and Na Vyhlídce [Licibořice]. In the wider regional surroundings of Libkov lies the Church of Svatý Jiří.

History

The first written mention of Libkov dates from 1329, when the Vilémov Monastery transferred the deserted Újezd Bojanov to Jindřich of Lichtenburk for settlement. In 1555, Libkov belonged to the Oheb estate after it had passed from the property of the Trčkové z Lípy into the ownership of Václav Robmhapt ze Suché. After the estate was divided between two sons in 1564, Libkov remained part of the Oheb estate, which was later called the Seč estate.

Culture

Flax was once cultivated on a larger scale in Libkov; it was spun and woven at home. The inhabitants of Libkov once felled timber in the estate forests and transported it to the timber rafting site on the Chrudimka. Libkov is one of the places in the Pardubický Region where the traditional custom of “stínání kohouta” is observed. The granite rock from the Libkov quarry was selected as suitable building material for the Seč Dam.

Cycling

The signposted cycle route 4112 ran through Libkov. It was 42.0 km long and led from Horní Bradlo to Sezemice.
