Svratouch: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Northwest of Svratouch, in the Stará obora forest area, lies the Filipovský spring, a forest spring that is one of the sources of the Chrudimka River. It is the starting point of the Krajem Chrudimky educational trail, which is 74 km long and has 31 information boards.
Nature and Landscape
Svratouch lies in a part of the Žďárské vrchy Highlands. The Chochol pond is located on the northeastern edge of the village; its sandy beach invites visitors to swim on sunny summer days.
The U Tučkovy hájenky natural monument is partly located in the cadastral area of Svratouch and encompasses broad valley areas with peat meadows. It protects transitional mires, nutrient-poor calcareous fens, tall-sedge communities, damp cabbage thistle meadows and mat-grass grasslands with protected and endangered plant and animal species.
History and Culture
The Chapel of St John of Nepomuk in Svratouch was begun in 1933 and consecrated on 10 June 1935.
The Evangelical Church in Svratouch was built in 1783–1784 as a Toleration prayer house and ceremonially opened on 20 October 1784. It was remodelled in the Art Nouveau style in 1911–1912; a cemetery dating from the Toleration era surrounds the Evangelical Church.
The building of the Evangelical school in Svratouch has been a listed monument since 1958. Since 2016, it has housed the Museum of Historic Motorcycles. The Karlštejn hunting lodge was built in the vicinity of Svratouch around 1770 and completed in 1776.
