Chýšť: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The 11 km-long cycle route 4272 runs from Výrov via Sopřeč, Vápno and Malé Výkleky to Chýšť. The village lies on the slope of Kačerov Hill.

Geographical setting

The Ohrádka forest extends approximately 0.5 km east of Chýšť. The Vražednice forest lies north of Chýšť; the Chýšťský pond is located near this forest. The Hájenka forest lies northwest of Chýšť, beyond the main road. The Záhumeník pond lies west of Chýšť. The Babidolský stream is significant from a local hydrological perspective.

Nature

The local flora of Chýšť includes the endangered species sandy cinquefoil and marsh violet. The local flora of Chýšť includes nearly half of all plant species found in Bohemia.

The local fauna of Chýšť includes squirrels, hazel dormice, wood mice, bank voles, noctule bats, red foxes, badgers, wild boar and roe deer. Badgers are found in some areas, while wild boar and roe deer are being observed increasingly often.

History and culture

During construction work on the D11 motorway, several building foundations and fireplaces were discovered in the cadastral area of Chýšť in 2005. The find was investigated beneath the Vražednice forest, along the motorway’s current route.

A hoard of Bohemian denarii from the late 10th century was discovered in the cadastral area of Chýšť near the northwestern border of the Pardubice Region. In 2020, the find was declared a movable cultural monument of the Czech Republic and is permanently displayed in a vault room of Pardubice Castle, which visitors can view during a guided tour.
