Culture and History

The Automatic Mills are one of the most valuable examples of modern architecture in Pardubice. They were later declared a National Cultural Monument.

The educational trail Stezka Viléma z Pernštejna first leads to the Zelená brána lookout tower. On the way up to the viewing gallery, visitors can see the “Kronika města” exhibition, which uses audiovisual effects to provide information about the city’s history.

The Knights’ Halls are accessible as part of the “Pernštejnská rezidence – nejstarší renesance v Čechách” guided tour. In the Knights’ Halls, the female nude painting “Fortuna volubilis (Štěstěna vrtkavá)” forms part of the rich Renaissance symbolism preserved in the wall paintings.

The Zámeček Memorial includes an outdoor memorial area and a museum exhibition about the events of the Second World War and the resistance movement in the Pardubice region.

Perník Janoš offers guided tours of its production facilities, where visitors can learn how traditional gingerbread is made.

Nature and Trails

The narrow strip of the Nemošická stráň natural monument lies on the southeastern edge of Pardubice. Pardubice is also a starting point for the Elbe Cycle Route.
