Litošice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Litošice reveals its special features above all where geology, forests and bodies of water meet. The Litošice conglomerates are part of the Železné hory Geopark. At the Litošice–Křížový rybník geological locality, small rock outcrops form the stratotype of the Litošice conglomerates from the Cambrian.

Nature

Litošice conglomerates occur in the village square and around the pond. Further Litošice conglomerates were exposed during the dredging of Křížový rybník and can be visited today. West of Litošice, one of the local geological features is an old mining structure with spoil heaps. Various volcanic rocks also occur in the surrounding area.

Centuries-old oak trees stand on the dam of Křížový rybník in Litošice. From there, a stream winds through a valley lined by a basalt lava vein and other volcanic rocks towards Seník. The Litocha spring lies in a forest hollow between Litošice and Krasnice. There is a rest area, an information board and a visitor book at the spring.

Geology

Semtěš–Vlčí skála is a registered geological locality of the Czech Geological Survey and an excursion geotope in the cadastral area of Litošice. At the locality there is a low, artificially arranged stone table with seating, which is associated with the legend of Žižkov stůl. The rocks at Semtěš–Vlčí skála are used as a climbing area.

The Litošice–Křížový rybník geological locality can be reached via a walkable tourist trail located more than 250 metres from the road.

Culture and History

The Myslivna in Litošice is a picturesque building dating from the late 18th century. Around 1800, Vedralka was built near Litošice as a hunting lodge. Its ground floor is made of masonry, while the upper floor is built of wood and features a wooden arbor.

The Krasnice memorial stands near Litošice on the shore of a pond, at the place where four partisans were killed. The remains of the building in which they lost their lives are located immediately beside it.

Activities

The forest paths around Litošice are used as cycling routes connecting Polabí with the ridge of the Železné hory. During the winter months, the surrounding forest paths are used as cross-country skiing trails. The sports complex in Litošice is also currently used for nohejbal, tennis, volleyball, one-hoop basketball and small-sided football.
