Ceske Libchavy: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The educational trail “In the Footsteps of History” passes through the centre of České Libchavy, by St Vitus Church and the pyramid dedicated to Cyril and Methodius. Its route through the picturesque valley of the Libchavský potok stream adds a scenic aspect to the historical sites. The information board and the starting point of the educational trail are located by the Chata Habřinka restaurant. The trail also includes a stop at the original statue of Saint John of Nepomuk: the Rococo statue by house no. 65 dates from 1765.

Culture

St Vitus Church is considered the most significant tangible historical monument in České Libchavy. It was originally built in the Gothic style and remodelled in the Baroque style in 1780. Its existence is documented in the parish register of the Archdiocese of Prague for the period 1344–1350. In front of the church stands a monument to the victims of the First and Second World Wars and totalitarian regimes.

History

At the Skalka hillfort site, a surrounding ditch, part of a rampart and depressions from former buildings have been preserved. The historical traces form an independent stop alongside the religious and later monuments of the village.

The k.504 hill [České Libchavy] is located in the immediate vicinity of České Libchavy. The Řetová and Velká Suchá mountains are also located in the surrounding area. Mount Strýc is situated in the wider regional surroundings of České Libchavy.
