The origins of Zádolí date back to the late 15th and early 16th centuries. The first written mention of the village dates from 1559.

History

The history of neighbouring Stříhanov also dates back a long way: the settlement was founded around the end of the 14th century, and its first written mention dates from 1433. Zádolí merged with neighbouring Stříhanov in 1860. In the western part of Zádolí, there is a group of buildings between house numbers 3 and 27.

Landscape

The village green in Zádolí is home to the protected small-leaved lime tree Lípa srdčitá. The hills Horní role [Leština] and Na Chlumku [Leština] are located nearby. The mountain Jarošov is also located in the surrounding area; the mountain Řetová lies in the wider regional vicinity.

Culture

In the wider surroundings of Zádolí, the pilgrimage Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary from 1345 is located in Knířov. Nové Hrady is also home to a renovated Rococo château.

Zádolí is located on the Vysoké Mýto–Nové Hrady–Proseč bus route.
