Bukovka: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Bukovka is surrounded by forests and ponds on its southern and eastern sides. The village’s history is also closely connected with water: Around 1465, the Lords of Bukůvka acquired the nearby fortress of “Jilovka” together with the adjacent Skříní Pond. The fortress could only be accessed via a wooden bridge.

Culture and History

The Evangelical Helvetic Church was built between 1859 and 1861 on the site of a wooden house of prayer and is now the landmark of Bukovka. It is also occasionally used for concerts, lectures, and youth events. On 29 May 2026, the church was included in the Night of Churches programme; a music programme took place there from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. From spring to autumn, services are regularly held in the church on Sundays at 9:30 a.m.

Other visible reminders of the village’s history include a Neo-Gothic wayside shrine dating from 1872 and a liberation monument in Bukovka’s village square. The Church of Svatý Jiří is located in the vicinity of Bukovka.

Landscape

The Nadýmač Hill near Břehy is located in the immediate vicinity of Bukovka. The Soudný Hill near Chýšť and the Sušina Hill near Sopřeč are also nearby. Further afield in the region are Kačina Chateau and Kamenec Mountain.

Activities

A green-marked hiking trail runs through the Bukovka area along the dam of Rozhrna Pond. There are also marked cycling routes: the 7-km-long Cycle Route 4276 starts at Trhoňka Pond in Bukovka and leads via Křičeň and Rohoznice to Dobřenice. In addition, a marked local cycling route runs through Bukovka and Habřinka.
