Supíkovice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Supíkovice combines a strong marble tradition with a protected limestone landscape and tangible cultural traces in the village.

Culture

In the second half of the 19th century, Supíkovice developed into a leading centre of marble quarrying and processing. Because of its marble industry, Supíkovice received the symbolic nickname “Silesian Carrara”.

A registered technical monument is the Vápenka from 1856, an oval stone shaft kiln for burning lime. The Vápenka can be reached via a local road and is maintained by the municipality. In the centre of Supíkovice, tourists can also visit the Church of Saint Hedwig.

Nature

Na Špičáku in Supíkovice is designated both as a National Nature Monument (ÚSOP code CZ07137305576) and as a Natura 2000 site (N2000 code CZ0713730). The protected area includes remnants of yew and juniper stands on a rocky ridge up to 33 m high at the summit of the 482 m high Velký Špičák. The area also includes a sea of white crystalline limestone rocks, above-ground karst formations and an underground limestone cave system.

Jeskyně Na Špičáku features passages with a characteristic heart-shaped profile formed by meltwater from a glacier. The current visitor route in Jeskyně Na Špičáku is 220 m long and accessible to people with disabilities.

Trails

The six-kilometre educational trail “In the Footsteps of the Ice Age” leads to Jeskyně Na Špičáku. The Czech-Polish St. James Way also passes through Supíkovice.

Events

The Supíkovické Dřevosochání takes place every year during the summer holidays near the Vápenka. The traditional Supíkovický Masopust was scheduled for 7 February 2026, featuring a masked procession and live music.
