Písečná: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

In Písečná, the six-kilometre-long educational trail Po stopách doby ledové leads through valleys, rock formations, moraine ridges and spring areas to the Jeskyně Na Špičáku. The cave runs through Velký Špičák mountain (516 m above sea level), which lies between Písečná and Supíkovice in the Supíkovická pahorkatina; its first written mention dates back to 1430. The educational trail offers a view of Jezero Florián lake, which was created by sandstone mining. The information boards are complemented by educational and entertaining play elements; the trail also has a rest area for cyclists with a bicycle stand and solar charger.

Nature

The Na Špičáku area is designated as a European Site of Community Importance. It is home to a regionally significant winter roost of the lesser horseshoe bat (Rhinolophus hipposideros). Above Chebzí, the semi-dry meadows become an orchid-rich habitat during the spring months.

Culture and history

The protected grounds of the Kostel sv. Jana Křtitele church include the cemetery, surrounding wall, mortuary and exterior staircase on the western side. The church in Písečná was rebuilt in its present form in 1751–1752. The Kaple v Chebzí is a wooden example of vernacular architecture dating from the end of the 19th century; its creator is unknown.
