Přestavlky: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Přestavlky is a place where a chateau, sacred architecture and traces of historic fortifications meet a richly varied forest landscape. Cultural monuments, a church building steeped in tradition and the landscape of the Přestavlcký les form a remarkably dense thematic connection here.

Culture and history

Přestavlky Chateau is one of the immovable cultural monuments of the Czech Republic. The rectangular, two-storey building has four wings and is dominated by a four-sided tower with a tented roof, onion dome and lantern.

The chateau park of Přestavlky is also one of the immovable cultural monuments of the Czech Republic. It contains a grotto with a statue of Our Lady of Lourdes. The park’s main compositional axis is formed by a lime-tree avenue.

Švédské šance is also one of the immovable cultural monuments of the Czech Republic. On the hill above Přestavlky, the remains of ramparts and ditches of a former fortress have been preserved. In 1643, Švédské šance served as a base for the Swedish troops of General L. Torstenson.

The Church of St Peter and Paul in Přestavlky dates from the first half of the 14th century and is already mentioned as a parish church in 1384. Its building has a rectangular nave, a narrower polygonally enclosed chancel and a sacristy on the south side. It can be visited by prior arrangement and during services.

Landscape

The Přestavlcký les is a continuous forest complex with a mosaic structure of Pannonian and Carpathian oak-hornbeam forests, as well as small areas of species-rich beech forests and ash-alder floodplain forests.

The forest extends from 250 metres above sea level at Dobrčický rybník to 345 metres at a forest promontory above Salaš below Holý kopec.
