Kojetín: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Kojetín reveals its unique character where significant buildings, vibrant culture and nature-based experiences come together. The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is the city’s most important historical monument. It is located near Kojetín’s main square on the Olomouc–Kroměříž road, which runs through the city centre.

Culture and History

One of the city’s oldest buildings is the former synagogue of Kojetín, built in the mid-15th century. The events calendar also preserves its own traditions: Kojetínské hody has been celebrated every year since 1999 in mid-August as a three-day event with a traditionally varied programme. March is traditionally dedicated to amateur theatre in Kojetín; this is when the regional qualifying showcase of amateur theatre groups, Divadelní Kojetín, takes place.

Museum

The Kojetín City Museum contains evidence of permanent settlement in the area of today’s city since the Palaeolithic. Its collections also include examples of folk art, traditional costumes and folk ceramics, an extensive numismatic collection, and a significant collection of old printed works.

Admission to the VIC Gallery and the museum’s permanent exhibition in Kojetín is free. For school and children’s groups, the City Museum offers guided tours led by information or museum staff, as well as accompanying programmes, upon prior booking. Groups comprise a minimum of three and a maximum of 20 people; when visiting the Hrůzostrašné sklepení, the maximum number is ten people.

Nature

The Naučná stezka Biocentrum Kojetín nature trail runs around the Na Hrázi pond and through part of the biocentre via a footbridge. Part of the Kojetín Biocentre consists of artificially created pools and channels that support water-dependent animals.

The nature trail is suitable for children, families with children, schools, seniors and tourists, as well as for people with prams and wheelchairs.

Water

The Kojetín swimming pool complex features pools, a water slide, a Kamikaze slide, a whirlpool and other water attractions.
