The “Chapel of Saint Urban” stands in the centre of Buk. This Baroque folk-style building dates from the mid-18th century. It stands on a slight hill and can be reached via seven slate steps. Its floor plan is square and ends in a semicircular apse; the design also includes a hexagonal lantern.

In front of house no. 35 stands a Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk dating from the mid-18th century. The school building in Buk bears a memorial plaque commemorating those who fell in the First World War.

History

The first written mention of Buk dates from 1275. The document from 1275 names Vlk of Buk as a witness. In 1375, Franc of Kunovic owned the estate in Buk. In 1668, Buk was incorporated into the Rokytnice estate.

Routes and Connections

The “Cyrilometodějské poutní cesty” pilgrimage route reaches Buk after passing under the railway line and continues through Buk to Lazníky.

For cyclists, the “Na chmelnici Hané” route runs from Přerov via Kokory, Žeravice, Lhotka, Tršice, Výkleky, Vicínov, Radvanice, Buk and Prosenice back to Přerov. Along this route, the cycle path leads via Radvanice to Buk. Buk also has good bus connections with Přerov.
