Hrabůvka: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Hrabůvka lies at an elevation of 305 to 345 metres above sea level, below the 443-metre-high Hůrka hill and on the boundary between two geomorphological units. As a result, different landscape areas meet directly here.

Landscape and Geographical Setting

The northern part of Hrabůvka belongs to the Oderské vrchy subregion of the Nízký Jeseník range, more specifically to the Boškovská vrchovina upland. The southern part belongs to the Bečevská brána subregion of the Moravian Gate, more specifically to the Jezernická pahorkatina upland. The Uhřínovský potok stream flows through the entire cadastral area of Hrabůvka.

Culture and History

The earliest written mention of the settlement of Hrabůvka dates from 1371; at that time, the place was referred to as “William Habruowkam”. Attractions include the wooden bell tower near House No. 5, built at the beginning of the 19th century. There is also a statue of Saint Florian in the centre of the village.

In the vicinity of Hrabůvka, on the boundary with the cadastral area of Radíkov, lies the privately owned neo-Gothic Kunzov château. Another historical trace is the narrow-gauge railway built in 1910: it was 600 millimetres wide and around three kilometres long, connected the Hrabůvka quarry with Drahotuše railway station, and was closed in 1972. The railway was subsequently dismantled.

Everyday Life and Leisure

Within one kilometre of Hrabůvka, visitors will find a shop and a small restaurant with an adjoining garden. The Svačinka sports complex can be used for relaxation and recreational sports by arrangement with the operator.

During walks in the forests around Hrabůvka, visitors can collect wild berries and mushrooms. The walks offer beautiful and far-reaching views.

In the vicinity of Hrabůvka, swimming is possible in a natural swimming area in a flooded quarry in nearby Olšovec. In the Podlesí microregion, marked cycle paths lead from the Moravian Gate into the Oderské vrchy and pass through all the municipalities of the microregion.
