Sobíšky: Holiday Apartments and Houses

The oldest written mention of Sobíšky dates from a document issued on 3 November 1275. Historically, Sobíšky was the centre of the self-governing Půhončí community.

Culture and History

The Chapel of Saint Anthony of Padua was built in 1660 by the judge Jan Pavlíček. It is built in the Baroque style and was extensively restored, including the altar, both side benches and the choir. Services are held there only for the Feast of Saint Anthony on 13 June. The Hody festival in Sobíšky will take place from 11 to 13 June 2027.

Bašta is a limeworks and a cylindrical stone lime kiln below the transformer station near “Dvůr”. Drbalova Chapel, now called Kolářova Chapel, stands on the road to Lazníky. Jarošova Chapel stands on the road to Zábeštní Lhota near the highest point of the municipality. Above Sobíšky stands Dvůrů Castle; its present appearance dates from 1842, and it is not open to the public.

Půhončí House No. 14 has a preserved Partikus on its façade, a column-supported entrance hall with a flat ceiling. The statue of Saint Augustine was restored and placed on a pedestal beside the chapel.

Hiking Trails and Regional Context

Sobíšky belongs to the Pobečví microregion, through which the Amber Trail long-distance cycle route runs. From there, further interesting routes lead towards the Oderské vrchy and Hostýnské vrchy hills. A yellow-marked hiking trail begins at the bus station in Sobíšky and leads towards Vinařský les.

Winegrowing

The cadastral area of Sobíšek is one of the two officially recognised winegrowing locations in the Olomoucký Region.
