Radotín: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Radotín is home to a documented archaeological site at Mesla, U Kříže. Evidence has been found there of a Neolithic settlement as well as settlements of the La Tène and Púchov cultures.

Culture and History

Radotín was first mentioned in writing in 1447. The stone cross from 1890 was erected at the expense of Josef Čech and his wife Barbora in memory of their deceased daughter Františka. Another stone cross in Radotín was erected in 1855 at the expense of Antonín Lesák and the local residents.

The stone cross with a commemorative plaque dedicated to the First World War was erected in 1872, renovated and altered in 1923, and restored in 2004. It commemorates the soldiers from Radotín who fell in the First World War.

The Chapel of Our Lady was built in 1952 and is dedicated to the Virgin Mary of the Rosary. The chapel contains a bell cast in 1802 by the Olomouc bell founder Antonín Jan Alois Obletter.

Water and Landscape

The Radotínský potok stream flows from north to south through the cadastral area of Radotín. The Štěrbice Valley with the Radotínský potok offers varied waterscapes, quiet spots, and small bodies of water. The Štěrbice Valley is recommended for walks and peaceful contemplation of nature.

Views and Paths

The Na Zákaplí Cross was erected in 1904 at the expense of the Hindová family. It stands on the site of a former chapel that served for prayer and provided shelter for hikers and hermits. The Na Zákaplí Cross offers a view of part of Záhoří. From this location, the path invites you to continue to a nearby spring or Helfštýn Castle.
