Býškovice lies in a gentle valley in the Záhoří area. The Býškovický potok flows through Býškovice and onward towards Žákovice.

History and Culture

Evidence of prehistoric settlement has been found in Býškovice. This includes remains and complete urns discovered at several sites in the cadastral area, various stone beaters, and stone axes from the Silesian Urnfield culture.

The first historically documented written mention of Býškovice dates from 1131 and names the village as the property of St. Wenceslas Church in Olomouc. At the lower end of the village stands a monument unveiled in 1927 to the soldiers who fell in the First World War. In front of the Chapel of St. Anne is a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk.

Býškovice maintains the traditional custom of leading the bear. The village also preserves the traditional July festival hody.
