Radkova Lhota lies on the right bank of the Radkovy or Blazický potok rivers. Its townscape includes bodies of water, fields, woodland and historical landmarks.

Landscape and Nature

In 2000, a one-hectare body of water was created in Radkova Lhota; the water is 5 metres deep at the dam. The village lies in a sugar beet-growing region and was formerly known for its fruit growing.

In 2001, additional areas of the forest park, covering 0.75 hectares, were planted. In 2003, another pond was created and the forest was expanded. In 2004, two field roads were repaired, 130 fruit trees were planted and two field copses were established. Fruit trees and a well still stand today at the former Na Větřáku site, in the middle of the fields.

In the vicinity of Radkova Lhota lies the 310-hectare Dřevohostický Forest, situated between Dřevohostice, Radkova Lhota, Bezuchov and Hradčany and forming a European protected area within the Natura 2000 network. A 7-kilometre-long educational trail runs through the Dřevohostický Forest near Radkova Lhota.

History and Culture

The bell tower at house number 15 in the village was built in 1929 in place of an older bell tower. A wayside shrine from the 18th century stands at the road entrance to Radkova Lhota from Radkov.

Radkova Lhota Chateau is located on the former isolated farmstead of Lhotsko. It was a hunting and leisure chateau with an extensive park and was converted into a specialised facility, a retirement home. In the historical context of the region, Radkova Lhota remained part of the Dřevohostice estate until 1635.

At the lower edge of the village green near house number 6, there once stood a water mill on a millrace to the right of the Moštěnka River, apparently with a low water head. On the hilltop to the left of the road from Lhota to the Lhotsko estate, a windmill belonging to the Lhotsko estate is recorded as having burned down in 1905 near house number 18.

Riding Trails and Equestrian Sports

The Jezdecký klub Radkova Lhota is active in Radkova Lhota. The Moštěnka riding trail follows a field road along a plum alley to Radkova Lhota. The red-marked main route of the Moštěnka riding trail ends behind Radkova Lhota at the JK Radkova Lhota racecourse; there is a rest area there.
