Laškov: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
Laškov presents, within a compact historical setting, notable evidence of architectural history, the imperial era and archaeology. The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built in 1612 and is protected as a cultural monument. Laškov Chateau originated from a Gothic fortress, part of whose ground plan has been preserved in the centre. On the occasion of the imperial manoeuvres in the Konice area, Emperor Franz Joseph I chose the chateau as his temporary residence in 1887.
Visitors to the Koupací biotop Laškov can use a designated car park in the grounds of the agricultural cooperative.
Culture and history
A historical connection spanning several places lies behind the so-called “Polish Road”. It is assumed that, from the second half of the 10th century until the beginning of the 13th century, one branch of this road led from Prague via Litomyšl, Jevíčko, Konice, Krakovec and Náměšť na Hané to Olomouc, and then continued north through the Moravian Gate towards Poland.
In the vicinity of Laškov are the monument “Pomník obětem 1. a 2. světové války”, the monument “Pomník obětem 1. světové války”, the monument “Socha sv. Jana Nepomuckého” and the church “Kostel sv. Andělů strážných”.
Religious sites
The present-day Baroque Chapel of Saint Anthony of Padua in Krakovec was built between 1682 and 1686 on Světina Hill. Devotions to Our Lady of Fatima have been held in the Chapel of Saint Anthony above Krakovec for more than 15 years. These devotions include a candlelight procession with the statue of Our Lady of Fatima and the recitation of the Rosary.
Outside Krakovec, by the road to Laškov near the Chapel of the Virgin Mary, there is a stone cross dedicated to Saints Cyril and Methodius.
Landscape
The Rmíz hill above Laškov is a prehistoric hillfort and, at the same time, an important archaeological site. Horka Hill is located in the vicinity of Laškov. The “Rmíz[Náměšť na Hané]” hill lies in the immediate vicinity of Laškov.
