Horní Studénky: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The Church of Saint Leonard in Horní Studénky was built in its present form in 1666. The village is situated in a gently rolling landscape ranging from hilly terrain to upland areas, with permanent grassland. Forests grow on steep slopes and in valleys, while the valley floors are cool and damp.
Culture
The Church of Saint Leonard, including its surrounding wall and ambits, is a registered immovable cultural monument. The ambits around the church were built in 1734 to protect pilgrims from bad weather. Horní Studénky is also home to a column with a statue of the Holy Trinity, which is likewise registered as an immovable cultural monument. At the lower end of the village stands a rustic chapel made from a tree trunk. It is associated with a local legend about the fortunate discovery of a statue of the Virgin Mary.
Routes and Transport
Three marked hiking trails run through the municipality of Horní Studénky. The blue hiking trail leads to the Church of Saint Leonard in Horní Studénky and leaves the village via Příčnice in the direction of Klášterec. The red hiking trail runs north of Králova hora through a valley to Sychrov Pond and continues from there to Jakubovice.
Cycle Route 6229 leads from Jedlí in a southwesterly direction to Horní Studénky, continues to the church, and then runs via Sychrov towards Písařov. Cycle Route 6231 comes from Štíty to Horní Studénky and passes through the municipality. Horní Studénky is served by bus and road transport.
Water and Landscape
The reservoir lies before Horní Studénky in the direction of Svébohov, is used for fishing, and also serves as a swimming spot for people from the surrounding area. The pond was created in 1964, covers 1.26 hectares, and is used for fish farming. It lies at the opposite end of the village from the reservoir, about 1 kilometre beyond the Myslivecká chata.
Nature
There are two game enclosures in the vicinity of Horní Studénky: one for red deer and one for fallow deer and mouflon.
