Jedlí: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Jedlí combines historical landmarks with marked trails through the surrounding landscape. The village’s history is reflected in the Church of St. John the Baptist, the wayside shrine and column, as well as further traces in the village; at the same time, cycling and hiking trails pass through Jedlí and connect it with several neighboring villages.

Cycling and Hiking Trails

Cycling route 6228 runs through Jedlí and connects Štíty with Zábřeh via Václavov, Svébohov, and the Růžové údolí valley. Cycling route 6229 also passes through Jedlí, connecting Cotkytle with Čečel via Horní Studénky. This route features frequent climbs and descents as well as a varied landscape.

A marked green hiking trail also runs through Jedlí. It leads from Zábřeh via Na Horách, Václavov, Křížové hory, and Jedlí to Štíty. Thus, two different signposted connections are described in the village: a cycling route with a changing elevation profile and a green hiking trail between Zábřeh and Štíty.

There are six bus stops in Jedlí. Their 500-meter walking catchment area covers a large part of the built-up area.

Culture and History

The Church of St. John the Baptist in Jedlí is a single-nave late Baroque church built in 1786, with five altars. It was first mentioned in 1411. In 1633, it was burned down by members of non-Catholic denominations. In 2012, the church underwent extensive renovation; among other things, the masonry was dried and the flooring, lighting, and interior paintwork were renewed.

The wayside shrine in Jedlí bears the inscription „J. E. P. 1860“ on the back of its pedestal. It was registered as a protected cultural monument in May 1958. The Holy Trinity Column is a group of sandstone sculptures approximately 5 meters high and is associated with the year 1773.

Further historical traces can be found in the village school and at the cemetery. The village school in Jedlí was built in 1832 with a donation from Prince Liechtenstein. The cemetery contains an interestingly designed Empire-style gravestone from 1819 attributed to the Wachler family.

Nature

In Březná Nature Park, carpets of the legally protected spring snowflake bloom at the end of March in the wet meadows around Jedlí, Horní Studénky, Drozdov, and the settlement of Na Horách. Within the nature park, the Březná and Moravská Sázava rivers form distinctive, deep, and symmetrical valleys. Occurrences of the rare and strictly protected round-leaved sundew have also been documented in the cadastral area of Jedlí.
