The 74-kilometre cycling tour “Projížďka Litovelským Pomoravím” passes through Moravičany.

On the way

The cycling tour leads from Mohelnice to Moravičany via a cycle path, passes through the village and, at the edge of the village, offers either a route through the forest or a cycle path to Doubravice. Moravičany railway station provides services for domestic passenger traffic, including seat reservations, and is located on railway line 270.

Culture

On a hill within the municipality stands the listed church complex of Saint George. It includes a bell tower, an enclosing wall with a gate and a sandstone pulpit. Below the church, at the south-eastern foot of the hill, there is also a separate parish area that forms part of the complex.

The Marian column with the Infant Jesus dates from 1703. It is a valuable early Baroque sculpture and has been protected as a cultural monument since 1964. The Chapel of Saint Florian was built around 1713 and reconstructed in 1945. Its interior frescoes by Petr Herzig depict important buildings in Moravičany as well as Saint Florian extinguishing a burning roof.

The Chapel of the Holy Trinity dates from 1833 and is a small masonry building in the vernacular architectural style. It stands on the outskirts of Moravičany on the road to the Doubravice district, opposite a production facility. The ensemble of the Virgin Mary, Saint Florian and Saint John of Nepomuk is located on the road to Doubravice, immediately behind the bridge over the Třebůvka on the left-hand side. It is dated to 1676; other datings place it as late as the mid-18th century. It has been protected as a cultural monument since 1964.

Nature

The important ornithological nature reserve Moravičanské jezero is located in the vicinity of Moravičany. The protected area covers 92.15 hectares.
