Culture and History
The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is a Baroque building in its present form, dating from 1757 to 1792. At Švédské šance, the earthwork remains of a fortified Swedish military camp from 1643 have been preserved. Švédské šance is also designated as a significant archaeological site in Horní Moštěnice.
After extensive rebuilding during the Communist era, only part of the façade of Zámeček remains. Hodové slavnosti are held regularly in Horní Moštěnice.
Gardens and Springs
A protected ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba) grows in Zámecká zahrada. It is more than 170 years old and has an unusual crown shape. Cultural events are occasionally held there. Hanácká kyselka is the best-known of the local mineral water springs.
Cycling and Hiking Trails
Along the northeastern boundary of Horní Moštěnice runs a recommended cycle route and a yellow-marked hiking trail from Újezdec via Švédské šance and Horní Moštěnice to the connection with the blue trail toward Karlovice and Stará Ves.
The main cycle route of the Moštěnka Microregion includes a section from Horní Moštěnice via Beňov, Prusy, Čechy and Domaželice to Dřevohostice.
Getting There
Horní Moštěnice railway station is located on railway line 330 between Přerov and Břeclav. Access to the station building or stop, including the shelter, is barrier-free.
