Sušice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In the centre of Sušice stands the Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary, built in 1935 on the site of a former bell tower. Regular services are held in the chapel during the Sušické hody on the Sunday around 2 July and on 4 November.

Culture and History

The building of the former General School, constructed in 1896, is still used as a kindergarten today. A publication on the settlement of the Sušice municipal area from prehistoric times through the Middle Ages is available free of charge at the municipal office.

Written records and former ownership relations also refer to Sušice: a farmstead in Sušice is mentioned in the founding charter of a monastery in Olomouc. A local fortress and the village of Sušice were held by Jan ze Sušice. Margrave Jošt bought Radslavice and Sušice and subsequently sold them to the Olomouc Chapter.

In the wider regional surroundings of Sušice, Zámek Lešná is a chateau, Zřícenina Lukov is a ruin, and Svatá Marie is a church. The chateau park of Holešov is also located in the wider regional surroundings of Sušice.

Nature and Landscape

The meadow habitats in the localities of Sušice–Pochylec and Kudlov have above-average biological value compared with the surrounding intensively farmed landscape. A small-leaved lime tree grows on the southwestern edge of Sušice and is designated as a memorial tree; its age is estimated at around 400 years.

In the immediate surroundings of Sušice, Přísahanec [Sušice u Přerova] is a hill, as is Haná [Hlinsko]. In the wider regional surroundings of Sušice are Růžový Kopec and Kelčský Javorník, both mountains.

Cycling Connection

The project to construct the second section of the regionally significant “Jantarová stezka” cycle path is intended to connect Radslavice and Sušice.
