Drahany: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Drahany is situated on the main ridge of the Drahanská vrchovina highlands at an average elevation of 625 metres. In the eastern part of these highlands, Drahany is the highest-altitude municipality.
Landscape and Bodies of Water
A large part of Drahany’s extensive cadastral area is covered by dense forests. The Velká Haná River rises in the eastern part of Drahany, while the Drahanský potok stream originates southeast of Drahany. Nebeský rybník provides a habitat for endangered plant and animal species.
Culture and Townscape
A landmark in the townscape is the late-Baroque Church of St John the Baptist, “kostel sv. Jana Křtitele”, dating from 1790. The protected ensemble also includes a mortuary, a bell tower and the associated grounds. The church has a rectangular nave and a rectangular chancel.
The ruins of Drahuš Castle are located in the vicinity of Drahany.
Traditions and Events
Vánoční Drahanská is a traditional Christmas run from Žárovice to Drahany. At this event, participants can run, walk or cycle. Štěpánský ponor is a traditional ice bath or cold-water bathing event. The local event culture also includes Hodová zábava, a traditional dance event in Drahany with music and refreshments.

Drahany is situated on Class III road No. 377, which runs from Plumlov to Lipovec.
