Dlouhomilov: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The All Saints Church is a protected immovable cultural monument dating from the second half of the 17th century. Together with the rural homestead No. 7, which lies in the centre of the Dlouhomilov village heritage conservation zone and was formerly a reeve’s residence, it shapes the historic character of the village.

Culture and History

The history of today’s site goes back a long way: the area at the present-day location of Dlouhomilov was already inhabited by at least 3000 BC. A stone axe from the Neolithic period was also found in Dlouhomilov.

Below the All Saints Church, a memorial to the victims of the First and Second World Wars stands at a crossroads in the village. It was ceremonially unveiled on 21 August 1921. The historic appearance of the village is complemented by the Empire-style statue of Saint John of Nepomuk, which was added in 1839.

Landscape and Trails

Dlouhomilov lies in the valley of the Loučka, Dražník and Benkovský potok watercourses. The Bašta hill lies on the northern side of the village, and the Skalka hill on the eastern side.

The Šumperk–Králec–Brníčko–Postřelmov hiking trail passes through Dlouhomilov. Another path leads to the Chapel of Saint Florian: the ascent offers views of Dlouhomilov and the Loučka valley. The shortest route to the chapel is via a footpath from the road near the Sokolovna.
