Culture and History

Hradisko-Hradiště, also known as U Josefa, is located on Hradisko Hill above the left bank of the Morava River in Doubrava Forest, but already within the cadastral area of Stavenice. Archaeological finds date Hradisko-Hradiště to the 10th century; pottery finds also indicate that the site was used in the second half of the 13th century.

The historic village landscape includes several noteworthy monuments. The stone cross near House No. 48 is a unique example of folk sculpture from 1816 in the Empire style and was reconstructed in 2009. The crucifix with Christ is complemented by a Madonna with two angels and a relief of Saint Mary Magdalene. The Boží muka in the western part of Stavenice, between Houses No. 1 and 40, date from the end of the 18th century and were reconstructed in 2011. Within the built-up area of Stavenice, the Boží muka are exceptional in size and have a striking visual impact.

The Chapel of St. Florian contains an image of Saint Florian above the altar. The burial site comprises a group of mounds of varying sizes: 19 were identified in 1953, and at least seven mound embankments were found during a later terrain inspection.

Nature and Protected Areas

Part of the cadastral area of Stavenice lies within the Litovelské Pomoraví Protected Landscape Area. The Doubrava Nature Reserve also includes cadastral areas of Stavenice. In the nature reserve, driving in by car, camping, picking plants, and collecting or disturbing animals are prohibited.

Cycling Route

A short section of Cycling Route 51 on Road III/31540 passes through the area of Stavenice towards Třeština; the route connects, among others, Mohelnice and Třeština.
