Hoštejn: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The remains of a former Gothic castle have been preserved at Hradiště Hoštejn; the fortification system stretches over 450 metres. The Hoštejn castle ruins are also home to a monument commemorating the completion of the Olomouc–Prague railway, which is a listed immovable cultural monument.

Culture and History

Construction of today’s Church of St Anne in Hoštejn began in 1867; it was completed two years later. The parish house in Hoštejn was built in 1809 or 1810. The Muzeum naší dědiny museum can be visited by prior appointment. The pilgrimage to St Anne in Hoštejn traditionally takes place on the first Sunday after the feast of St Anne.

Walking and Cycling Routes

The Srní educational trail can be reached from the Hoštejn škola bus stop and from Hoštejn railway station. The 18-kilometre cycling loop “Na kole po památkách” runs via Kosov to Hoštejn, where it connects to cycle route No. 6232. A 25-kilometre cycling loop called “Na kole okolím Zábřeha II” leads to Hoštejn via cycle routes No. 521 and 6232.

The Cukrová Bouda mountain is located in the immediate vicinity of Hoštejn. The Hrad Brníčko castle and the Lazek, Skalka and Obora mountains are located in the surroundings of Hoštejn. The Nový Hrad ruins are located in the wider region around Hoštejn.
