Landscape and Trails

In the vicinity of Svébohov lies the Nadhledna Háječek lookout point between Svébohov and Zborov. From there, it offers an unobstructed panoramic view. The Nadhledna Háječek can be reached on foot or by bicycle via a yellow-marked KČT trail approximately 2 km long.

The educational trail in Svébohov is called “Nebe, peklo, země, ráj”. Cycle Route 6230 also passes through Svébohov between Pivonín and Rovensko.

Culture and Local History

The evangelical prayer house in Svébohov, dating from 1860, is listed as a protected monument. The cleared log-house farmstead No. 41 in Svébohov is a protected cultural heritage site dating from the first half of the 19th century.

In the past, the people of Svébohov supplemented their farming with home-based work, initially spinning and later making thread buttons, wooden shoes and other wooden goods.

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, Kostel Nanebevzetí Panny Marie, in Svébohov is a historicist church dating from 1869 and remains an active place of worship as well as a site of historical interest.

A memorial plaque for Arnošt Valenta is located on the front wall of the municipal office in Svébohov. It commemorates him as a member of the 311th Czechoslovak Bomber Squadron in Great Britain and as a participant in the “Great Escape” from the Stalag Luft 3 prisoner-of-war camp.
