Hraběšice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Hraběšice lies along the upper course of the Hraběšický potok stream and along the road from Šumperk and Nový Malín to Rudoltice. The 617-hectare cadastral area consists mostly of wooded uplands; after Hraběšice, it is known as the Hraběšická hornatina highlands.

History and Sacred Culture

Hraběšice originated as a settlement of lumberjacks and miners; iron ore was mined in the surrounding area. The village was first mentioned in written sources in 1569. The Church of St Philip and James was built between 1818 and 1825, and a parish was established there in 1842. The walls and ceiling of the chancel are covered with Neoclassical frescoes. Next to the parish church stands a listed Baroque rustic statue of St John of Nepomuk from the second half of the 18th century.

Activities

Skipark Hraběšice is a family-friendly ski centre with slopes at an altitude of 530 to 660 metres. Two interconnected lifts serve the slope; the longer one is a 620-metre-long double tow lift. The Skipark also offers a ski school for children and adults. During the summer months, a swimming pool is available below the slope.

Surroundings

In the immediate surroundings, the Krásné Reservoir, its surroundings and the settlement of Krásné form a recreational area close to the city. The Krásné Quarry is also nearby, an active dimension-stone quarry with four main levels and walls at least 40 metres high.

Routes and Stops

From the Skřítek Pass, excursions lead towards Šumperk and onwards towards Hraběšice. The named route “Along the Flora beside the Rudoltický potok” lists Sobotín, Rudoltice, Traťovka, Hraběšice and Krásné as stops.
