Čelechovice lies in a valley of gently rolling loess hills at the transition between Haná and the last foothills of the Oderské vrchy. The village is located halfway between Přerov and Olomouc. The Kopřivnice stream flows through Čelechovice.

Loess Hills, Hradisko and the Lhotka u Přerova Natural Monument

South of Čelechovice rise the wooded slopes of the 300-metre-high Hradisko. A symbolic mound stands at the summit as a memorial to the establishment of the Czech state. The gentle contours of the loess hills contrast with the wooded Hradisko south of the village.

The protected natural monument “Přírodní památka Lhotka u Přerova” is also located in the vicinity of Čelechovice. Čelechovice from its First Mention to the Village Centre

The first written mention of Čelechovice dates from 1190. In the same year, Čelechovice was owned by the Olomouc Chapter.

Chapel, Reconstruction, Memorial Crosses and Hodové Masses

The Chapel of St Anthony and St Wendelin dates from 1825 and stands on the road in the village centre. For those interested in culture, the chapel and memorial crosses provide concrete connections to the history of Čelechovice. After a severe storm, it was reconstructed in 2005. Traditional Hodové masses are held in the chapel. Čelechovice also has two memorial crosses. Thus, the year of construction, reconstruction, religious use and local memorial markers are all closely connected to the village itself.

Hodové Celebrations in June and a Regional Cycling Tour

The Hodové celebrations in Čelechovice took place from 14 June to 16 June 2024, from 13 June to 15 June 2025, and from 12 June to 14 June 2026. The celebrations each extend over several days in June. Each of the three periods listed covers three days.

Cyclists also have a specific regional connection: Čelechovice is one of the municipalities through which the “Okolo mikroregionu Dolek” cycling tour passes.
