Culture and History

The new Church of St Michael was built in the Baroque style in 1826 and is a distinctive landmark of Sedlnice. At the entrance, Renaissance tombstones of Jan Sedlnický z Choltic and his wife Johanka z Limberka are set into the side walls; both died in 1573. Today, only a remnant of the former Baroque complex remains of Sedlnice Castle.

Josefův dub is a memorial tree in Sedlnice that is more than one hundred years old. It can be reached via a field road that runs along the sports ground to the edge of the forest near the railway line. The tree is associated with a poet who often went to it, sat there, and wrote.

Other places include Skotnice, Hodslavice, Veřovice, Hladké Životice, Mošnov, Kunín, Heřmanice U Oder and Bordovice.
